PLEASE NOTE:
- If a cap description does not state that there is a monofilament top to the wig - this means that the wig will have permatease on the top area. Permatease is a lot of short hair added to create volume. This is not a defect, and can look almost like multiple little short spikey hair. This is the reason that the wigs are cheaper.... they are not hand made on top but machine made.
- If you want a NATURAL TOP / parting appearance please order a wig with a monofilament top or parting. We can always advise BEFORE purchase. Unless otherwise stated, it is to be expected that any cap that is not a monofilament top will have permatease.

PERMATEASE - WHAT IS IT, AND WHY?
If you are new to the world of wearing alternative hair - or even experienced, you may be wondering "WHAT IS PERMATEASE?"
We feel it is important to explain a little regarding this, as often it is part of a wig / topper / hair piece that can be mistaken as "damaged hair." It is not.
PERMATEASE is a lot of synthetic fibres that are very short and can be straight or curled and attached to the base (cap) of your hair piece.
Permatease is very commonly used in short styles to give added volume, or to curly wigs for volume at the root and crown area.
PERMATEASE IS NOT A FAULT. It is part of the design of many wigs and toppers.
BASIC MACHINE MADE WIGS NORMALLY INCORPORATE A LOT OF PERMATEASE TO THE DESIGN
A fully machine made item is less time consuming in manufacture than a fully hand made item. This is often beneficial as it significantly reduces the cost of the item compared to a fully hand made similar style.
Permatease is what will often be seen along the "parting" area, the "hair line" and "nape" sections as well as the crown and sometimes the full top of a basic machine made wig or topper.
Permatease often adds volume to the wig.
Here is a photo of permatease along the front hair line of a wig.
This is NOT faulty, it is not "singed" or damaged - it is what is to be expected of a basic cap.
If you are looking for a natural parting on your wig or topper, it may be better to avoid a permatease or basic machine made cap and opt for a similar style with a monofilament top or parting.
We will show two wigs below and it is clear to see which has the natural parting, and which has a permatease top.
